Ubisense partner press release.
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) June 20, 2008 -- Fish Software (http://www.fishsoftware.com) (FISH), a Dallas, Texas based event technology company has partnered with Technology Forums (http://www.technologyforums.com/home/) to support the Department of Veteran's Affairs educational conference and exposition eHealth 2008 taking place in Tampa between July 15th and 17th. The event will feature location intelligence technology developed by FISH that improves the attendee experience by providing better access to information.
The FISH system (http://www.fishsoftware.com/event_solutions/measurement.htm) uses "Ultra-Wide-Band" radio frequency tags similar to an indoor GPS system that allows an attendee to detect his/her exact location whenever they press a small green "Tell Me More" button on their tag. This location intelligence can be leveraged to proactively make information requests anytime, anywhere on the show floor. When the "Tell Me More" button is pressed within an exhibitor's booth, information about that exhibitors products are instantly uploaded to the attendee's personal web-based micro-site. Attendees will also be able to leverage the "Tell Me More" buttons in the 11,000 square foot poster-session area to request that specific educational posters are uploaded to their personal micro-sites as well as in session rooms to request copies of presentations. The Fish "ShowKEY" also features an additional button that empowers the attendees to easily exchange contact information. By pressing their red "My-Network" button when standing near a fellow attendee, the system will identify the attendee's location and instantly exchange and upload contact information to their respective micro-sites.
According to Becky J. Monroe, Education Project Manager at VALU IT National Training & Education Office, the VHA eHealth University is a conference that focuses on using technology to improve health care. "Implementing the Fish Radio Frequency badges during this conference gives each attendee opportunities using the "Tell Me More" functionality that we've never been able to offer. We're very excited about using this technology for our attendees", says Ms. Monroe
The system has clear benefits (http://www.fishsoftware.com/exhibitor_solutions/) for the exhibitor as well. Exhibitors can create multiple "Tell Me More" zones within a booth space with a unique "tell me more" message for each product or service represented in the booth. When a visitor presses the "Tell Me More" button the exhibitor not only garners the equivalent of a "lead" but also understands the specific interest of the buyer based on which ""Tell Me More" zone the buyer was standing when making the request. Better information isn't the only benefit for the exhibitor, says Michael Gilvar, CEO of Fish . "The content that is delivered to the attendee will be more relevant and targeted. Exhibitors now have the ability to craft messages specific to the role the attendee plays in the organization. The products may be the same - but the message to the Radiologist may be quite different from that which should be sent to the Hospital Chairman. The common statistic quoted in the event business is that 86% of all tradeshow leads never receive any form of post-event follow-up. We just fixed that with the single click of a button", says Gilvar.
Other benefits for the attendee include control of information and privacy. The attendee has the ability to choose the method of exhibitor follow-up (whether by email, direct mail, or phone) and has the ability to mark each request "Private" in which case the attendee has opted out of further exhibitor follow-up. The attendee will automatically receive a default "Tell Me More" response for any exhibit space he/she engages for more than five minutes. This automatic "Tell Me More" request has a default setting of "Private". The tags are also used to ensure that attendees are counted as they enter session rooms to ensure that all continuing education credits are distributed based on participation.
